- What is West Marches OS?
- League operations software for open-table and shared-world tabletop RPG campaigns. It tracks town market purchases, guild vault listings, player wallets, DM approval queues, and live session loot — without replacing your VTT or character sheet.
- What is a “league” in this app?
- A league is your table’s shared world hub — one ongoing group with a shared town market, guild vault, league board, and session history. It is not one game night; it is the container for an open table or living campaign. See the getting started guide for join, create, and DM access steps.
- Do I need an invite code to sign up?
- No. Anyone can create a free account with a username and password. An invite code is only needed to join a specific league after you are signed in. DMs share invite codes from League settings.
- How do I join a league?
- Your DM shares an invite code from League settings. Enter it in the lobby under Join with code, or search for public leagues by name. Some leagues require owner approval or a code for every join — your DM sets that policy.
- How do I find an open table?
- After you join a league, open tables appear on the Session tab — not in the lobby. DMs can post how many players they need, party size, and level expectations. Joining is still through your DM (claim code or roster); the list is for planning, not auto sign-up.
- How do I track gold and loot between sessions?
- Each character has a wallet and gear list. Players submit town purchases, vault offers, and downtime requests anytime. Funds are held until the DM approves. During live play, the Session tab shows roster, party stash, and unallocated loot.
- Is this a virtual tabletop (VTT)?
- No. There are no battle maps, tokens, or grid combat. Use your existing VTT or play at the table for maps. This app handles league economy and logistics only.
- Which game systems are supported?
- Any tabletop RPG. Leagues pick a profile for currency labels and defaults (fantasy, sci-fi, horror, or homebrew). Built-in town catalogs are richest for fantasy-style games; other systems can add custom market items.
- How does account email work?
- You have one account email (optional at sign-up). It is used for sign-in and password reset — username login still works. Add or change it under Player settings; confirm the link from your inbox. Creating a league requires a verified email. If you change email and lose access to the old inbox, ask your DM for an unlock code (Forgot password → Ask my DM), then use Settings → Can’t access your current email? or the optional new-email field on Use unlock code.
- How do I reset my password?
- Sign in page → Forgot password → Email reset: enter your account email or username. A reset link goes to the one email on your account. Username-only (no email yet): choose Ask my DM, enter username and league invite code; your DM approves in DM Console → Pending approvals and sends a one-time unlock code (not your character claim code). Then Forgot password → Use unlock code to set a new password. Already have a code? Use unlock code directly.
